Outward Bound is a nonprofit, educational organization whose mission is to inspire character development and self-discovery in people of all ages and walks of life through challenge and adventure.
Outward Bound accomplishes this through our award-winning, adventure-based programs. Whether it be a wilderness expedition in a remote mountain range or an urban course that makes use of city streets and parks, our courses impel students to achieve more than they ever thought possible, to show compassion for others and to actively engage in creating a better world. Nearly half of our students receive scholarship support that comes from your donations.
We offer more than 1,000 courses throughout the year and across the U.S. Annually, over 15,000 participants successfully complete an Outward Bound expedition or in-school program. In our 50-year history in the United States, we have served nearly 1 million people. Outward Bound courses change lives and give students the tools to see further, climb higher and know their way.
